Unlocking Your JAMB Success: Essential AI Tools from Our Recent Webinar

At Opportunities Unlock Initiative, we believe that every student deserves access to the best tools and resources for exam preparation. Our recent webinar brought together hundreds of JAMB candidates eager to learn how artificial intelligence can transform their study approach. The response was overwhelming, so we wanted to share these powerful resources with everyone who couldn’t attend or needs a quick reference guide.
The tools we’re highlighting aren’t just trendy apps. They’re practical, accessible platforms that can genuinely improve how you prepare for JAMB. We’ve tested them with our students, and the results speak for themselves. Last year, the 50 candidates we sponsored achieved an average score of 276, and these AI tools played a significant role in their preparation.

ChatGPT: Your Personal Study Assistant
ChatGPT has become indispensable for JAMB preparation. We’ve created a custom GPT specifically designed for English practice, which you can access through the link we shared at the webinar. Think of it as having a tutor available 24/7 who never gets tired of explaining difficult concepts.
You can ask ChatGPT to generate practice questions, explain grammatical rules you’re struggling with, or even create mock comprehension passages. If you don’t already have an account, setting one up takes just a few minutes at chatgpt.com. The free version offers plenty of functionality, though the paid tier gives you access to more advanced features.
Perplexity AI: Research Made Simple
When you need to research a topic quickly and thoroughly, Perplexity AI stands out from traditional search engines. It doesn’t just give you links. Instead, it synthesises information from multiple sources and presents it in an easy-to-understand format with proper citations.
This tool is brilliant for current affairs questions (often featured in General Paper) or when you need background context for literature texts. You can ask complex questions and get coherent answers that would normally require browsing through several websites. It’s particularly helpful when you’re short on time but need reliable information.
Claude AI: Deep Understanding and Explanation
Claude AI excels at breaking down complex concepts into understandable explanations. If you’re grappling with a challenging Physics principle or struggling to analyse a poem for your Literature preparation, Claude can guide you through the thinking process step by step.
What sets Claude apart is its ability to engage in longer, more detailed conversations about academic topics. You can have an extended discussion about a subject, ask follow-up questions, and really dig into the material. It’s especially useful when you need someone to check your essay structure or help you understand why your approach to a Maths problem isn’t working.
JAMB CBT Practice: The Real Deal
There’s no substitute for practising with the actual test format. The JAMB CBT platform at jambcbt.awajis.com/english/ simulates the real examination environment, which is crucial because sitting for a computer-based test feels different from working through questions in a notebook.
We encourage all our students to spend time on this platform regularly. It helps you build speed, get comfortable with the timer, and learn to navigate the interface efficiently. The more familiar you are with the CBT format, the less nervous you’ll feel on exam day.
Google Gemini: Versatile and Powerful
Google’s Gemini rounds out our toolkit with its multimodal capabilities. You can upload images of diagrams, charts, or even handwritten notes, and Gemini can analyse and explain them. This feature is incredibly useful for subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Geography where visual information matters.
Gemini also integrates well with other Google services, so if you’re already using Google Docs or Google Drive for your study materials, it creates a seamless workflow. You can ask it to summarise long documents or extract key points from your notes.
Using These Tools Responsibly
Here’s what matters most: these AI platforms are study aids, not shortcuts. They work best when you use them to enhance your understanding, not replace genuine learning. Don’t just copy answers or let AI do your thinking for you. Instead, use these tools to clarify concepts, test your knowledge, and practise more effectively.
We recommend setting specific goals for each study session with AI tools. For example, you might decide to use ChatGPT to generate 20 English grammar questions, then work through them independently before checking your answers. Or you could use Claude to discuss three past questions that confused you, making sure you understand the reasoning behind each answer.
Staying Connected
The landscape of educational technology keeps evolving, and we’re committed to keeping you informed about the best resources. Follow us on our social media platforms to get regular tips, updates on new tools, and success stories from students who’ve used these platforms effectively.
Remember that these tools are most powerful when combined with consistent study habits, good time management, and a clear understanding of the JAMB syllabus. Technology can give you an edge, but your dedication and hard work remain the foundation of exam success.
We’ve seen firsthand how these AI platforms can level the playing field for students who might not have access to expensive tutorial centres or personal tutors. That’s why we’re passionate about sharing them with you. They’re free or affordable, they’re available whenever you need them, and they can genuinely make a difference in your preparation.
Your JAMB success is our mission. We’re here to support you with resources, guidance, and encouragement every step of the way. Start exploring these tools today, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help getting started or maximising their potential.
